Saheed Jagbir Singh GGSSS, Silana, Celebrates Independence Day 2023

“Saheed Jagbir Singh Government Girls Senior Secondary School (GGSSS), Silana, joyfully celebrated Independence Day in 2023. The school community came together to commemorate the 77th anniversary of India’s freedom with great enthusiasm and patriotism.

The event began with the unfurling of the national flag, Jawans of BSF came to Salute the freedom fighters of village, a symbol of India’s sovereignty and unity. Students and staff members stood united, their hearts filled with pride for the nation. The flag fluttered proudly against the backdrop of the clear blue sky, reflecting the hopes and dreams of a free India.

Sarpanch, Sh. Rakesh and Principal, Mahinder Singh hoisted the national flag in the school.

The school grounds echoed with the melodious strains of the national anthem, sung with fervour and unity. The students showcased their talents through cultural performances that paid homage to the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. Patriotic songs, dances, and skits echoed the spirit of patriotism and love for the country.

The principal, Mahinder Singh Yadav,  delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the importance of unity in preserving the values for which countless freedom fighters had fought and sacrificed. The students were reminded of their role as responsible citizens in shaping the nation’s future.

Cultural Programmes Organised at The School

The celebration continued with various competitions, including drawing, essay writing, and elocution, centred around themes of freedom, unity, and progress. The students’ creativity and enthusiasm shone through their participation, reflecting their deep understanding of the historical importance of the day.

As the event concluded, the entire school community left with a renewed sense of pride in being part of a free and democratic India. The celebrations served as a reminder that the spirit of independence lives on and must be cherished and upheld by every generation.

“Ladies and gentlemen, respected staff members, students, and fellow villagers,

Today, as we gather here to celebrate the 776th anniversary of our nation’s independence, my heart swells with pride and gratitude. It is an honour to stand before you and address this esteemed gathering on this momentous occasion.

First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff members who worked tirelessly to organise the splendid array of independence programmes. Your efforts have made this day even more meaningful and special for all of us. Your commitment to instilling a spirit of patriotism and unity among our students is commendable.

As we remember this day, we cannot help but bow our heads in deep reverence to the brave souls who fought relentlessly to free our land from the shackles of oppression. Today, I want to pay my heartfelt homage to the freedom fighters, our local heroes, Sh. Maan Singh, Sh. Balwant Singh, and Sh. Ram Singh. Their sacrifices and unwavering determination paved the way for the freedom we enjoy today. Their indomitable spirit should continue to inspire us to uphold the values they fought for.
